Adams, The Old Oak

I finally finished up my caricaturized homage to Gilbert Stuart's portrait of John Adams. This week the painting was accepted into the 20th Annual Juried Undergraduate Exhibition.

Looking forward to the DVD release of the new miniseries based on McCullough's Pulitzer-winning biography of the second president. I've always been intrigued by Mr. Adams. It is a shame that even having so great an influence on our country's history, he is so widely unknown.

Abigail once called him an old oak because of his steadfast resolve.
"Thanks be to God that he gave me stubbornness when I know I am right."
-John Adams

UPDATE: He won me the Lewandowski Best Illustration Award at the exhibition!
