Aye, Eye

One of my summer goals is to learn a bit about portraits - specifically in oils. This is a closeup of a self portrait I just got started on - much still to be worked out here. More later...

Also, I'm working on a promotional video about Summer Projects for college students. I'm essentially creating backgrounds for live-action characters. I'm collaborating with the LAB in Orlando on this one. Here are some early looks at the process:

Some panoramas that will be animated into the backgrounds of the video

A still shot from a rough cut of the video. Can anyone spot the Edward Hopper reference? It's small.

Tim Russert

I drew this several months ago - one of my favorite newsmen, Tim Russert, who suddenly died today. As I was growing up, he was a regular voice heard in our living room. A quality journalist and family man, his absence will be notable.

bible

I collaborated with the LAB (http://thelab.uscm.org) in Orlando on this project, a Bible that will be given to several thousand students on hundreds of campuses this fall.
