At Hand.

Second Week of Advent

This one is from Matthew 3, where John the Baptizer is "clearing the highway" for his cousin Jesus. Some call him the last of the Old Testament prophets. This guy ate grasshoppers and wore camel hide...and I'm betting that he had some crazy dreds. Of all the folks in Scripture, he is potentially one of the most visually interesting. Hopefully I'll be able to explore him more in the future.

I'd agree with you that he'd be an amazing source of illustration.

dreads, layers of camel clothing, a bit of old grasshopper in his teeth from where he was so busy preaching Jesus that he forgot to brush...
